Teenager identified as 8-year-old Kemp crash victim’s ‘guardian angel’

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — After searching for a dark-haired woman who calmed her after a pin-in crash, 8-year-old Ally Williams has been reunited with the woman she calls an angel.

On Wednesday, December 18, the pair was able to reconnect for the first time since the Kemp Boulevard pin-in crash on November 27.

Who was once a brunette stranger who eased her fears in the wreckage of a violent crash is actually 18-year-old Taylor Moore, who had been working across the street.

“I was with a customer, and I heard a crash. I jumped over my desk and came running out,” Moore said. “I [saw] her leg pinned up against the seat. Eventually, we got calmed down and started talking about school, and I think we did pretty good after that.”

Leaping into action through the trunk of the wrecked car, Moore wasn’t even supposed to be at work that evening.

“I had a doctor’s appointment that I had to cancel last minute, and so I stayed for the rest of the [work] day,” Moore said. “She calls me her angel, but I think her angel sent me to her.”

“That feels wonderful because if she did go to the appointment, I wouldn’t have help like that,” Williams said.

Taylor was just grateful her newfound friend was safe.

“I was in there bawling my eyes out to know that she was okay, one, and two, that she even remembered me because, you know, most kids don’t remember even car accidents in general,” Moore said.

“It feels great because at least I could say, like, ‘Thank you for helping me when that happened,’ and I can really appreciate and give her hugs and stuff,” Williams said.

…And Hershey’s Kisses. Meanwhile, it’s a happy ending for teenage Moore.

“I wasn’t thinking, ‘I’m going to get a thank you,’ nothing like that,” Moore said. “But hearing it from the strong little girl—I can say she is beyond strong—it’s just, it makes me really appreciative.”

Williams, who had been airlifted to Cook Children’s, said she’s healing more and more each day. Her family has set up a GoFundMe to offset medical costs not covered by her insurance.
