Baton Rouge, La. (WGNO) — During Saturday’s season opener against the Clemson Tigers on Aug. 30, the LSU Tigers football team will wear a special sticker on their helmets to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

LSU Peggy Martin Rose

The sticker features a flower called the Peggy Martin rose. That flower first appeared in Plaquemines Parish after Katrina.

The Peggy Martin rose is a living symbol that signifies resilience, hope and the unbreakable spirit of renewal.
