NEW ORLEANS — Will Berry is a coach’s dream as a 6’4, 260-pound defensive end with a 4.62 GPA and a perfect score of 36 on the ACT.

Berry committed to Princeton in June over other Ivy League schools like Harvard.

“Eighth grade me never thought he’d be sitting here now saying I’m going to Princeton to play football. I’m just very fortunate. The man above blessed me with some height and some talent, and I’m very fortunate in that way,” said Jesuit senior Will Berry.

Will Berry is considering a career in Sports Medicine. Until then, he is making the most of his Jesuit experience as a member of the National Honor Society and the Blue Jays Wrestling, Powerlifting, and Track and Field teams.

“My close friends go here. They’re on all the sports teams here, and that’s where my friends come from, athletics. I’m very fortunate to be at this school. My dad went here, my brother went here, and my grandfather went here. So I don’t have much of a choice, but I’m glad I do that up here. I like it a lot,” said Berry.

“He represents a lot of what Jesuit has to offer,” said Jesuit head coach Ryan Manale.

“He’s taking full advantage of everything Jesuit has from clubs, from sports, and just made the most of it. He’s taking this God-given ability, and he’s well on his way to becoming the best version of himself. He’s a young man who does everything for the greater glory. So he’s somebody that A.M.D.G., it means something. Meant for others and everything that we talk about at Jesuit. You know, Will Berry has a lot of imprint in that,” added Manale.
