JAMNOLA just moved to a new, larger location on Frenchmen Street, and founders Jonny Liss and Chad Smith wanted to give WGNO’s Kenny Lopez
The old Binder’s Bakery on Frenchmen street is getting a new life, now resurrected as JAMNOLA, which moved from its original location on Royal Street.
“It is a topsy-turvy experience that goes through over 29 installations created by over 100 artists, all from New Orleans, and JAMNOLA is all about New Orleans, so we call it a cultural funhouse,” Jonny Liss, founder and president of JAMNOLA said.
At JAMNOLA the creative directors of experience are Collin Ferguson and Catherine Todd.
“So every environment is firmly rooted in place, celebrating memories and experiencing our cultural and historic reality,” Todd said.
Some of the art installations include a Big Easy Speak Easy, a giant alligator, The Tiniest Night Club, a Mardi Gras Indian spaceship room, a Marie Antoinette/Marie Laveau crawfish, a mini-Mardi Gras float installation and so much more.
JAMNOLA stands for joy, art and music, and it’s is now located at 940 Frenchmen Street. They offer field trips and tours for large groups.
