NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — With her concert for Hurricane Katrina at the Orpheum Theater, singer Ella Grace hopes to make a difference.

That’s what she’s been doing all 16 years of her life so far.

WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood has your ticket for Friday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m.

It’s the chance to see and hear Ella Grace after she’s released her first album.

She calls it, “Waves” and it can be heard at the “Waves of Grace: Remembering Katrina” event.

“My album holds space for a moment of grief and of pain but it also offers hope,” said Grace.

Her songs come from her heart and soul and from her life after losing both grandmothers just eight months apart.

“It really marked me as a person to be dealing with my own grief. I turned to one of the only things I had which was God and music,” said Grace.

The message in her music is the hope that we have toward healing and breathing again.
