An underwater critter from the imagination of Covington artist Robert Post.
You seen them hanging from the ceiling at St. Tammany Hospital.
They’re on a mission to make trips to the hospital a little easier for folks.
WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood sits down at the drawing board with Post.
He’s a North Shore traveling salesman by most of the day and an artist for most of the rest of his time.
When his creations caught the attention of the folks at Disney, Post started making masterpieces for the place he always dreamed of.
“Drawing and sculpting these little characters was more fun because they were limitless and I didn’t have any rules to follow my imagination just led the way,” said Post.
Also in his head was another idea. Always a dream.
He says, “it was an out of reach, unattainable dream, sometimes.”
Sometimes, but not this time.
After a Disney artist saw his work, Post was making his own Disney masterpieces.
“The reward for me is sharing what I’m doing and I’m creating a smile. That’s my job,” said Post.
