NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department has named a suspect in a car theft investigation that was featured a week ago in a Wheel of Justice report
According to police, the car was stolen from a parking lot in the 4100 block of South Carrollton Avenue. The crime happened around 4:30 a.m. on Oct. 17. The car that was taken was a 2002 Buick Century.
Later that same day, according to police, the stolen car was sold to a scrap yard and destroyed.
Police also released security camera footage that shows three men who attached a rope to the Buick and towed it away using a white sedan.
The alleged suspect in the case is identified as 42-year-old Shanika Turner. Police say she allegedly sold the stolen car to the scrap yard. So far, police have not named any of the suspects who are seen in the security camera footage taking the car.
