Around 3:50 a.m. NOFD officials were called to the 1500 block of Carrollton Avenue. The first truck arrived at 3:59 a.m. to find a wood-framed home with flames consuming the second floor.
A second alarm was called at 4:01 a.m. for additional staff to assist with the heavy flames. Firefighters reported significant damage done to the home including a collapsed roof.
NOFD officials said firefighters were able to keep the fire contained to the primary building, considering the close proximity of surrounding homes.
No injuries were reported. In total, 17 NOFD units carrying 40 personnel were able to get the fire under control by 6:03 a.m.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
