
Around 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 7, LSP troopers responded to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 40 near Barker Road.
The investigation revealed, 64-year-old Houston Dutruch was headed southbound on Highway 40, pulling a trailer with his Ford F-800 when, for unknown reasons, he ran off the road striking a culvert and overturning the truck onto the roof.
LSP Troopers said Dutruch was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash but suffered fatal injuries.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The crash remains under investigation as toxicology results are pending.
