NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell has withdrawn her request to travel to Iceland.
According to court documents, the withdrawal comes after telephone conferences between Cantrell’s legal team and federal prosecutors.
Cantrell initially surrendered her passport after pleading not guilty to multiple charges, including conspiracy and wire fraud.
Cantrell and her former bodyguard, Jeffrey Vappie, are set to stand trial Oct. 19, 2026.
