According to officers, around 10:40 p.m. they were called to the intersection of General DeGaulle Drive and Westbend Parkway where a man was reportedly struck by a vehicle.
He was taken to a hospital where he later died.
Investigators believe the crash happened when a known female driver was heading south on General DeGaul and the victim reportedly ran into the roadway before being hit. The driver remained on scene and is reportedly cooperating with the investigation.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity after an autopsy is done and the family is notified.
