At Caesars Superdome on Apr. 10-12, people have the chance to have a “true Western experience.”
The announcement was made at the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation on Thursday, Nov. 6. This event honors Louisiana athletes and sports executives who’ve brought attention and notoriety to the state.
“It’s a very family-oriented event like we were saying earlier that’s even stuff for the kids,” Jau Cicero, New Orleans sports executive, said. “There’s mutton busting for kids as well as the top rodeo athletes in the world will be here for $1 million prize, and so they’ve created this in order to bring the top. It’s like the Super Bowl of a rodeo.”
At the event, UFC fighter Dustin Poirier received the Sports Legacy Foundation Award. In addition to this, New Orleans Saints and Pelicans President Dennis Lauscha and Cicero were inducted into the Hall of Fame.
