According to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office, the teacher made verbal threats, however, she got very close to the school personnel. The incident took place after school was dismissed, but nearly all students were still on campus.

Deputies added that this is the second time an incident has occurred involving teachers or support staff in the last two weeks at different locations in the parish. The other case involved a parent boarding a school bus and threatening the driver.

“We will take a very hard line on anyone who does this,” the sheriff’s office stated.

Ruff was arrested at her home and charged with two counts of assault on a school teacher and one count of disturbing the peace.

She was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on $40,000 bond.
