
Louisiana State Police troopers said they were called around 9 p.m. to the scene of a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.
An investigation revealed, 56-year-old Corey Sanchez was headed north on Louisiana Highway 307 on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Troopers said he was in a left curve when, for unknown reasons, he ran off the right side of the road stopping in a marshy area.
Sanchez was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash but suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The crash remains under investigation as toxicology samples from Sanchez are pending.
“Whether on a motorcycle or in a vehicle, drivers should make good decisions while traveling on the roadway. Obeying all traffic control signs and signals, and never driving while impaired, fatigued, or distracted, can often mean the difference between life and death,” said LSP troop C.
