METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — He used to be a high school science and math teacher.

Now Todd Wackerman is at the head of a different kind of class.
“Teachers work hard. This is the space where they come to get resources and be appreciated,” said Wackerman.
It’s the STEM Lab Library and the Teachers Free Store.

It’s the teachers free store and because, just like students, teachers also need recess, there is a teachers lounge.
“The teachers lounge here is great because i can come meet other teachers and learn from their experiences in their classrooms, build community and get some free snacks.”
Because teachers need supplies and right here on row after row, stacked up for the taking, it’s the place that’s one of a kind in the the state and one of a kind in the world.
