TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A man and woman were arrested on Tuesday, July 29, in connection with an alleged drug operation based in Independence and the Tickfaw area.
According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, Independence Police directed investigators to a home on Guzzardo Lane and Woodhaven Road in Tickfaw that were alleged to be drug trafficking hubs in those communities.
Following several days of surveillance, police obtained search warrants to search the residences.
TPSO officials said their search allegedly turned up almost $180,000 worth of various drugs, including fentanyl, cocaine, heroin, meth and a heroin-fentanyl mix. Police said they found four different weapons and $21,000 in cash.
Jaronge Durr is facing charges of possession with intent to distribute heroin, three counts of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, methamphetamines, and cocaine, possession of a firearm while in possession of controlled dangerous substances, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, conspiracy to distribute controlled dangerous substances and proceeds involving drug transactions. TPSO deputies said Durr is on active parole for a 2006 federal distribution of cocaine conviction.
Tashaundra Wilson is facing charges of possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl, conspiracy to distribute controlled dangerous substances and proceeds involving drug transactions.
