
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Louisiana State Police detectives are investigating after a state trooper reportedly fired his service weapon following a vehicle chase that happened in the New Orleans area on Thursday evening, Aug. 7.
According to the LSP, troopers were patrolling in New Orleans when they tried to make a traffic stop. The driver reportedly didn’t comply and led the troopers on a chase which concluded at the dead end of Pleasure Street.
Troopers say that in trying to get away, the driver allegedly reversed into an LSP vehicle, and a trooper fired his service weapon.
The suspect vehicle reportedly got away and hasn’t yet been found. There are no known injuries to the suspect or the troopers. The investigation remains ongoing.
