NOPD investigates fatal Uptown shooting
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened overnight in the Uptown area.

Around 10:20 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, NOPD officers reported receiving a call of a shooting at the corner of Louisiana and S. Claiborne avenues.

Responding officers arrived to find a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he later died, making the incident a homicide investigation.

No further details are available at this time. The NOPD is in the process of gathering evidence and information to determine a possible suspect and motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity after an autopsy is done and the family is notified.
