TPSO deputies said October will mark the five year anniversary since the shooting death of 30-year-old Jardney Dior Bell, who was killed in 2020 on Halloween night in Thibodaux.
The previous investigation stated around 11:45 p.m. on Oct. 31, TPSO Patrol Division deputies responded to a shooting on Cortez Street. Upon arrival, deputies reported finding a vehicle crashed into a ditch.
Inside was Bell suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital for treatment but on Nov. 6, 2020, he died from his injuries.
TPSO Violent Crimes Detectives have since pursued all leads and information gathered in the case.
“This investigation remains deeply important to our agency and to the Bell family. We believe someone in our community holds information that could help bring closure to this case and deliver justice for Jardney Bell,” said Sheriff Tim Soignet.
He adds that the sheriff’s office is renewing the case to raise new community awareness.
Anyone with information on Bell’s case can call the Criminal Intelligence Division at 985-876-2500 or Crimestoppers Bayou Region at 1-800-743-7433.
