NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man was arrested on Wednesday following a fatal hit and run that happened in New Orleans on May 10.

According to the New Orleans Police Department, the incident happened on Interstate 10 around 5 p.m. when a woman, later identified as 54-year-old Tiga Bryant, had gotten out of her truck to change a tire and was hit at the rear of her vehicle by an oncoming pickup truck.

NOPD investigators say that 29-year-old Montel Lee was allegedly driving the suspect vehicle and is accused of walking away from the crash without helping the victim or calling the police. He was arrested on July 2 and faces a charge of R.S. 14:100 C (2); Relative to Hit and Driving with Death.
