TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Daniel Callihan, the man accused in the murder of a Loranger woman and her daughter, has pled guilty in Tangipahoa Parish court.

On Friday, Sept. 26, Callihan pled guilty to counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of 35-year-old Callie Brunett, who was found by her father dead inside her Loranger home in 2024, and her daughter.

On June 13, 2024, Brunett’s daughters were also reported missing. The two were later found in a Mississippi wooded area. Brunett’s daughter Erin was found dead while her other daughter was found alive and taken to a hospital.

Callihan was arrested in Jackson and extradited back to Louisiana. During his transport, Callihan is heard on camera giving an alleged confession.

In Mississippi, Callihan was indicted on charges of one count of capital murder, two counts of kidnapping, three counts of sexual battery, and one count of receiving stolen property.

A sentence has yet to be given.
