HAMMOND (WGNO) — A Covington man is facing charges in connection with an investigation into alleged sex crimes in Hammond on July 1, 2025.
According to Hammond City Officials and the Hammond Police Department, 38-year-old Steven Gauthreaux faces charges of indecent behavior with a juvenile and computer-aided solicitation of a minor.
Officials said he was arrested after allegedly having several days of sexual conversations with someone he believed to be 14. Gauthreaux then allegedly arranged a date and time to meet with this minor in Hammond. He allegedly arrived at this location and was taken into custody by the HPD.
The investigation was part of the HPD’s partnership with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
