BOGALUSA, La. (WGNO) — A Bogalusa man has been sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of second-degree murder in a drive-by shooting incident that happened back in 2022.

According to the Office of District Attorney Collin Sims, on Aug. 23, 2022, 25-year-old Christian Cartez Myers, along with multiple other men, drove up to a house on Main Street in Washington Parish and riddled it with gunfire before fleeing.

During the gunfire, 50-year-old Veronique Allen was shot in the head and killed. Myers was later identified as a suspect in the investigation, found in Maine, arrested and extradited back to Washington Parish.

In addition to the life sentence for second-degree murder, Myers was sentenced to 10 years in prison for assault by drive-by shooting and two years in prison for illegal discharge of weapons.
