NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department has made an arrest in the investigation of a July 9 New Orleans East homicide.
NOPD officers said at 4:17 p.m. on that Wednesday, they were called to the scene of a shooting in the 8000 Block of Trapier Street.
He was taken to a hospital where he later died, according to NOPD officers.
Through an investigation, detectives were able to identify 38-year-old Joshua Stewart as a suspect and an arrest warrant was issued on July 11.
He was found and taken into custody on Wednesday, July 16, and booked into the Orleans Justice Center on charges of second-degree murder.
