17-year-old shot, killed in St. John the Baptist Parish

RESERVE, La. (WGNO) — Deputies with the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office are investigating a shooting that left a 17-year-old dead in Reserve on Thursday, June 12.

The sheriff’s office reported that deputies responded to the 400 block of Northwest Third Street around 8 p.m., where they found 17-year-old Tylik Jackson on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to investigators, “St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office crime cameras captured a physical fight between Tylik Jackson and another male that occurred in the middle of Northwest Third Street” before the shooting happened.

Deputies said the investigation is ongoing.
