The move formalizes Bitmovin’s role inside Streamcake, where it had been used within customer workflows, and elevates it to a core capability in Streamcake’s end-to-end orchestration. The integration ties Bitmovin’s encoding, playback and analytics to Streamcake’s orchestration and automation engine to streamline ingest, encoding, packaging, DRM, delivery and playback.
Positioned as a control plane across Bitmovin’s ecosystem, Streamcake supports dynamic workflow configuration, real-time optimization and infrastructure management aimed at scaling operations globally and maintaining consistent streaming quality.
“This capability is already delivering real results within our platform,” said Domenic Romeo, Layercake CTO. “Formalizing our integration with Bitmovin reflects the maturity of the solution and the value it brings to customers. It’s a key capability that enables us to deliver true end-to-end orchestration.”
“We’re excited to see Bitmovin’s streaming capabilities integrated as a core component within Streamcake’s orchestration layer,” said Ian Baglow, Bitmovin co-CEO “By combining our encoding, playback and analytics technologies with Layercake’s orchestration platform, customers can build and operate highly scalable, end-to-end video workflows with greater efficiency, flexibility and control.”
Layercake said the combined platform supports OTT streaming, live sports, simulcast workflows and enterprise video. The company framed the integration as part of a broader strategy to expand its ecosystem of technology partners around a modular platform.
