Broadway Meets the Beach Returns to Ocean County With Theater Camp, Star Performances

Broadway Meets the Beach comes back to Ocean County for summer 2026. The series moves to a new spot at Wanamaker Field in Island Heights and adds a theater camp for kids. Four nights of shows starring Broadway performers will run from July into August.

Young performers can sign up for Future Stars workshops that last one week each. Kids train with working professionals, then get to perform during the evening shows. Sessions kick off in late June and match up with each performance date.

Have Some Summer Fun

Tuition runs $250 for one week. Sign up for two weeks and pay $225 per week. Three weeks cost $200 per week, while all four weeks drop the price to $175 per week. These rates hold until May 15. A $100 deposit locks in your spot but won’t be returned. The rest of the tuition must be paid seven days before the workshop begins.

Shows happen at Wanamaker Field, located at 5 Wanamaker Municipal Complex. It’s right next to the post office and police station. 

“Come hungry because they’ll have the best food, brew, and dessert trucks, including Kona Ice,” the organizers said, according to Patch.

The July 3 show begins at 5:30 p.m. Fireworks cap off the night. Constantine Maroulis earned two Tony nominations and headlines with Lucia Giannetta and Ted Brunetti.

Christine Dwyer teams up with Matt Deangeles on Aug. 6 at 6:30 p.m. Dwyer starred as Elphaba in Wicked and brought Jenna to life in Waitress.

Stephanie Klemons shares the stage with Bill Bowers on Aug. 21 at 6:30 p.m. Klemons danced and acted in Hamilton as both star and dance captain.

The final show on Aug. 31 at 6:30 p.m. brings together Alysha Umphress, Korie Lee Blossy, Jenny Lee Stern, and The Trebletones. Blossy played Genie in Aladdin.

Workshops take place June 29 through July 3, Aug. 3 through 7, Aug. 17 through 21, and Aug. 24 through 28. Students perform at shows on July 3, Aug. 7, Aug. 21, and Aug. 31.
