Bloomington police seek help identifying person of interest in Kirkwood Avenue shooting

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — April 30, 2026
The Bloomington Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a male subject seen in surveillance images from the early morning hours of April 26, 2026, on Kirkwood Avenue.
Police said the person is considered a person of interest in connection with the shooting that injured multiple people during Little 500 weekend.
The person police are seeking to identify is shown wearing a backpack and a necklace. Police said the backpack appears to resemble a shark or dolphin.
Anyone with information about the person’s identity, or information about the shooting, is asked to contact Detective Chris Scott at 812-339-4477 or scottc@bloomington.in.gov.
Police have not said the person has been charged with a crime. This post will be updated if more information becomes available.
