Toy Story 5 Features Taylor Swift, Fans Believe, After Popstar Posts Now-Pulled Countdown Teaser
A countdown teaser with Toy Story 5 branding has been published — then quickly pulled — from Taylor Swift’s website, leaving fans certain the popstar is somehow involved in the film.
Swifties spotted the 48-hour countdown go live last night, and quickly recognised the iconic cloud wallpaper background from Andy’s bedroom in the Toy Story series. The countdown timer text was also Toy Story-themed, in the franchise’s familiar yellow and blue colors.
Within minutes, however, the countdown had mysteriously been pulled — likely because it had gone live too soon, or so fans believe. And now, Swifties have quickly begun their usual dedicated detective work — digging up further evidence that Taylor Swift will contribute to Toy Story 5, somehow.
Is she providing a song for its soundtrack? Is she voicing one of its characters? The former is more likely, though Swift has lent her vocal talents to an animated film before (2012’s Dr. Seuss adaptation The Lorax). But fans are now convinced of the Toy Story connection.
Swifties quickly noted that there is a similar Toy Story-like wallpaper background in her most recent music video for the single Opalite (specifically in the sequence where she has her picture taken by Lewis Capaldi). Another connection here is actress Greta Lee, who appeared in the Opalite music video and also voices Toy Story 5’s main villain, the talking iPad-like tablet Lilypad. Finally, Swift has worked with Disney recently on other projects, such as the launch of her Eras Tour recording and behind the scenes documentary on Disney+.

Fans have pointed to several other weird connections, which feel more likely to be coincidences. Namely, that Swift was last pictured in public wearing a white and blue dress of similar colors to the cloud wallpaper (and a bright yellow handbag like the Toy Story font), and that Toy Story 5 happens to share the same release date (June 19) as her debut single Tim McGraw, released 20 years ago on June 19, 2006.
Maybe Swift has a new version of Tim McGraw ready for the Toy Story 5 soundtrack? Its country themes would fit the franchise’s cowboy characters (and Woody voice actor Tim Allen has previously stated that Jessie will feature heavily as a lead character).
It’s likely we don’t have long to find out what’s going on, and Swfities are now keeping a close eye on the countdown’s return.
