Mahanoy Little League opens 2026 season, recognizes Parker Brode
MAHANOY CITY – A Barnesville boy recovering from an accident last year was recognized and honored at Mahanoy City Little League’s opening day this weekend.
Parker Brode and his family were on hand for the opening ceremonies. He’s a member of the Beez Floral T-Ball team.
With his service animal by his side, the league presented him with a baseball and wished him continued progress in his recovery.
“Parker, you are such a strong little boy,” the league said in a Facebook post. “You’ve shown such perseverance, bravery, and heart this past year.”
Brode was seriously injured in an ATV accident last April. He returned home in October.
Also recognized was coaching coordinator Mike Turrano and various donors, including the Trexler Family who donated dirt for the field.
