Sinners star Li Jun Li has reportedly boarded HBO’s The Last of Us Season 3 to play Mirium, the mother of Seraphite siblings Lev and Yara.

Variety reports that the star has officially signed on to the project’s third (and likely final) season. Although Yara and Lev play a vital role in the events of The Last of Us Part 2 video game from Naughty Dog, Miriam will be a new character for the show, so it’s unclear just how large her part will be when the series continues in the near future.

Many moviegoers will recognize Li as Grace Chow in Ryan Coogler’s 2025’s vampire horror hit Sinners, but her acting credits date back to the 2010s. Before she appears as Miriam in The Last of Us Season 3, TV fans can see her in shows like The Following and Fox’s The Exorcist, with her film resume including Ricki and the Flash and Babylon. She’ll also soon appear in Spider-Noir as Cat Hardy.

Li is just the latest addition to the cast, with previous Season 3 updates adding other newcomers, such as Jorge Lendeborg Jr. as Manny, Patrick Wilson as Jerry, and Jason Ritter as Hanley. Yara and Lev, meanwhile, were cast just last month, with Bridgerton’s Michelle Mao set to play the former, while Star Wars veteran Kyriana Kratter has been set to play the latter.

After giving returning star Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie, their own story to follow with Season 2, The Last of Us Season 3 is expected to follow Kaitlyn Dever as Abby. Depending on how closely the series sticks to the game it’s based on, it’s likely we’ll see Abby team up with Yara and Lev for many of the new episodes.

The Last of Us Season 3 currently has no release date. For more, you can check out why fans are expecting the show’s last season to be at least a bit longer than the last.
