For all intents and purposes, Whiskey Myers has become one of the quintessential bands in today’s new crop of country-rock bands. While the likes of Koe Wetzel, Treaty Oak Revival, The Red Clay Strays, 49 Winchester and more have all experienced a whole lot of success the last few years, the East Texas band somewhat laid the blueprint for them.

It should go without saying that they’ve been one of the forefathers of this modern southern rock renaissance we’ve seen pop up over the past few years, beginning all the way back in 2011 with their debut album, Firewater, which features their smash hit, “Broken Window Serenade” as well as other career staples such as “Ballad Of A Southern Man” and “Virginia.”

In the years following, they’ve continually one-upped themselves. Whether it’s 2016’s Mud, which featured the 2x platinum “Stone,” 2019’s self-titled record, which contains the platinum “Bury My Bones” or 2014’s underrated Early Morning Shakes, Whiskey Myers has proven time and time again why they’re one of the best in the business.

2025, in particular, was quite a big year for them. After a three-year album hiatus, they returned with the release of arguably their most genre-pushing project to date, the Jay Joyce-produced Whomp Whack Thunder, which not only drew high praise from fans and critics alike but also produced career-best tracks such as “Rowdy Days” and “Icarus.”

With all of that being said, however, they’ve still flown under the radar from a broad perspective. Despite all the success in alternative country circles and fans like ours here at Whiskey Riff, Whiskey Myers have constantly been snubbed by the likes of the ACMs, CMAs and even the Grammys. While they have definitely received some love thanks to their strong streaming numbers from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), receiving 10 gold and platinum certifications to date, it still feels like they’ve never truly gotten the love they deserve.

One song that has undoubtedly received love, though, is none other than the aforementioned “Broken Window Serenade.”

Undoubtedly being their signature song at this point, it’s been nothing but a juggernaut for them. In addition to its monster 368 million streams on Spotify alone and 2x platinum status, it’s also been a continually viral track for the band over the years. On TikTok alone, it’s been used a staggering 711,300 times, with many of these posts racking up millions of views and likes.

Of course, you can thank the trend of people discovering that the iconic Time Out Gentleman’s Club, which is referenced in the track, is a real place for part of the song’s sustained success, given that videos featuring the now-closed club continually go viral. However, it also helps that the song is simply that good, too.

The song has remained so successful, in fact, it just debuted for the first time on one of Billboard’s all-genre charts… 15 years after its release.

This week, “Broken Window Serenade” debuted at #50 on Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart, marking their first career entry on the chart.

Though there’s no running list/collection of songs that have debuted on the chart over a decade since its initial release, it’s fairly safe to say it’s an incredibly rare feat for country-rockers. The fact that a song released 15 years ago is still doing this well streaming-wise should not go unnoticed. And as mentioned previously, if there’s a band that deserves it, it’s undoubtedly Whiskey Myers.
