Running from April 29 through May 3, the championship will play host to a limited field featuring 72 players made up of top performers from the previous and current season, allowing tour members several different avenues to play their way into one of the PGA’s biggest events.
The Cadillac Championship will mark the 56th playing of a PGA Tour event at the Blue Monster, having previously hosted the tour consecutively from 1962 to 2016. The legacy venue has seen 14 World Golf Hall of Famers win 24 titles, including 82-time PGA Tour winner Tiger Woods, who has four victories (2005, 2006, 2007 and 2013) at the venue.
“We’re excited to welcome our fans, players, community partners, and volunteers back to the historic Blue Monster for the Cadillac Championship,” said Dave Mack, the championship’s executive director. “It’ll be a vibrant week featuring incredible golf and an electric atmosphere, and we can’t wait to celebrate the tour’s return to Miami alongside the community.”
Four of the PGA’s biggest names will be in the field for the inaugural Cadillac Championship, with reigning FedExCup Champion Tommy Fleetwood, three-time tour winner Shane Lowry, 10-time tour winner Xander Schauffele, and 2017 FedExCup Champion Justin Thomas officially committed to the field.
The championship also just announced a new partnership with Griffin Catalyst, the civic engagement initiative of Citadel Founder and CEO Kenneth C. Griffin, to provide family-friendly experiences when the PGA Tour returns to Trump National Doral.
As official community champion and official youth sponsor of the Cadillac Championship, Griffin Catalyst and its local nonprofit partners will provide complimentary admission for up to two children ages 15 and under per ticketed adult (grounds access only), along with access to the Kids Zone and Kids Autograph Zone, which is intended to help make the championship a memorable and affordable event for the entire family.
“Beyond the fairways, the Cadillac Championship is about giving families a place to connect, whether cheering on their favorite players or spending time outdoors to enjoy moments that truly matter,” Mr. Mack added. “Through our partnership with Griffin Catalyst, we’re excited to offer family-focused experiences that spark traditions and unforgettable memories at the Blue Monster.”
