Marvel Comics Reveals DNX, Its Next Big X-Men Crossover

Marvel Comics has revealed DNX, its next major X-Men crossover event. This new limited series will see Cyclops and the X-Men join forces with the Fantastic Four to stop one of the original X-Men from forcibly transforming humanity into mutants.

DNX is written by X-Men’s Jed MacKay and illustrated by Federico Vincentini (Imperial). As with several of Marvel’s recent high-profile launches, the first issue will be available as a “True Believers Blind Bag” edition, featuring one of several randomly selected, exclusive variant covers. Building on recent developments in MacKay’s X-Men series and the Age of Revelation crossover, DNX pits Cyclops and his team against the mutant terrorist cell 3K. 3K’s leader, the Chairman (actually the original, now profoundly evil version of Beast), seeks to unleash a virus that will transform humans into mutants. Only an alliance between the X-Men and FF stands between 3K and humanity’s forced evolution.

“DNX is the next big milestone event of our X-Men run,” MacKay said in a statement. “Age of Revelation showed the future, and DNX shows that future’s impact on the present! The X-Men and 3K are on a collision course that has been set since issue one—and only one will survive. And with the Fantastic Four joining the fray, this is going to be an event that will transform the X-Men dramatically.”

“I’m so happy to be working on DNX,” Vicentini said. “I love what Jed is doing with X-Men, and I’ve been telling him for a long time that I wanted to work with him. Now the opportunity has arrived, and it’s an even bigger challenge because I finally have the chance to work on the Fantastic Four too!

Vincentini added, “I can’t say anything about the plot, obviously, but I want you to know that I’m very excited about what we’re doing, and I’m sure it’ll be something you’ll definitely want to read. That’s how I feel both as the artist and as a fan!”

DNX #1 will be released on September 2, 2026. You can preorder a copy at your local comic shop. Readers can also see a prelude to this storyline in the upcoming Comics Giveaway Day 2026: Armageddon/X-Men #1, which releases for free on May 2.

In other comic book news, Marvel is revisiting a controversial era in The Spectacular Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and the upcoming Avengers: Armageddon #1 will include an exclusive Magic: The Gathering card.
