The update connects Unreal Engine directly to broadcast workflows and is compatible with Unreal Engine 5.6. It features Unreal Lens Compatibility, which applies lens distortion data to virtual cameras to better align virtual elements with live camera feeds.
“VSAR 2.3 introduces more immersive visuals and user experience optimizations that help teams deliver detailed scenes faster, which is critical in live production,” Sebastian Berdichevsky, Chyron workflow and orchestration portfolio director, said. “Everything we build comes directly from close collaboration with our customers, and we’re proud to say VSAR 2.3 is the outcome of their valuable insights.”
The release includes Live Assist Panels 2.9, a web-based control panel designer using drag-and-drop widgets to manage common controls like actor and level sequence selection. The system can now be deployed as a plugin within standard Unreal Engine instances, acting as a bridge between production workflows and on-air delivery through integration with CAMIO and newsroom computer systems.
Other improvements include optimized internal compositing to preserve original video input pixels, new project templates to speed up the go-to-air process and TCP Messaging support to integrate the system into automation workflows.
