Chyron Rolls Out PRIME Scorebug For On-Prem And Virtual; Adds Saas Scorebug To Chyron LIVE

Chyron introduced PRIME Scorebug, a scorebug tool built on the company’s PRIME Platform and aimed at broadcasters who want to unify clock-and-score with their existing live graphics workflows. The company also added a SaaS scorebug to Chyron LIVE, its cloud-based production suite.

Positioning the offerings for different tiers of live sports, Chyron says PRIME Scorebug targets control rooms that need tighter integration with PRIME CG and existing asset libraries, while Chyron LIVE’s scorebug is designed for mid- and lower-tier collegiate sports, one-off events and organizations that occasionally need to scale beyond control room capacity.

“In working closely with our sports customers across all tiers, it is clear that the scorebug is the most important graphic element of any live sports production,” said Steve Papadakis, Chyron senior vice president of sales, Americas. “Scorebugs are not ‘just another graphic.’ They have to be highly dynamic and accurate, and enhance the viewer experience.”

Key features of PRIME Scorebug include operator control orchestration, API-based data integration and client-specific choreography. Because it runs on the PRIME Platform, creative teams can apply existing overlays and branding to scorebugs for consistency. The company says facilities can configure a single system to run both the scorebug and CG for redundancy or opt to operate PRIME Scorebug and PRIME CG on one system with a single operator to reduce costs.

“Several key customers have successfully put PRIME Scorebug through its paces in real-world sports events and now use it on a regular basis,” said Mark Friedman, VP of sports sales, North America. “We take the simplicity of specialty scorebug products and blend that with the power of PRIME graphics.”

Chyron LIVE’s update adds purpose-built scorebug graphics, data integration services and dedicated scorebug controls as part of its all-in-one switching, graphics and replay workflow, providing a lower-cost, cloud option.
