Everything Coming to Apple TV in April
Apple TV has a spread of original series mid-season right now, but that isn’t stopping the service from premiering even more in April. While For All Mankind Season 5 chugs along, this month will see the conclusions of Shrinking Season 3 and the Imperfect Women miniseries. Your Friends and Neighbors will return for a second season, and we’ll get some fresh premieres from Margo’s Got Money Troubles and Outcome, a new Jonah Hill movie.
Let’s get into it.
Apple TV continues to be the streaming home for all things F1. In April, the service will feature the Bahrain Grand Prix (April 10-12) as well as the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix (April 17-19).
One of the first big premieres of the month, Your Friends and Neighbors is returning for what is already shaping up to be a chaotic second season. Our Season 1 review describes the dark comedy drama as a “perfectly fine watch that brings a charming Jon Hamm back to our TV screens as a financial titan-turned-career criminal.”
For All Mankind Season 5 and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 will also continue to get new episodes every Friday.
April 10
One of the only Apple TV movie premieres for the month, Outcome is a new film written by Jonah Hill and Ezra Woods. The movie stars Keanu Reeves as Reef Hawk, an actor in recovery who finds out he’s being blackmailed. Other cast members include Jonah Hill himself, Cameron Diaz, Matt Bomer, and even Martin Scorsese.
Our next big TV premiere is Margo’s Got Money Troubles, a collaboration with A24 and yet another comedy-drama. Based on the novel by Rufi Thorpe, Elle Fanning stars as Margo, a college student who accidentally gets pregnant after an affair. She turns to OnlyFans to try and support the child with help from her mother, a Hooters waitress, and her father, a retired professional wrestler.
Apple TV’s crime drama Criminal Record is returning for a second season. Well, technically ‘Series’ because this is from the UK side. The first season saw two detectives from different generations go head-to-head over a murder case. The second season will continue their rivalry while introducing new characters played by Dustin Demri-Burns, Luca Pasqualino, and Luther Ford.
There’s been a lot for the adults on this list, but Apple TV is still committed to at least some programming for children. My Brother the Minotaur is a new animated series about a minotaur raised by humans, who sets off on a journey with his friends to learn more about his past. The series is being produced by Cartoon Saloon, an Irish animation studio best known for 2020’s Wolfwalkers.
Toward the end of the month, Apple TV will premiere Widow’s Bay, a new horror comedy starring Matthew Rhys (The Americans). The small town of Widow’s Bay is rumored to be cursed, but the mayor still sets out to turn it into a tourist destination.
Apple TV has always kept it simple with a single ad-free subscription plan. The service did hike prices back in August, so subscriptions now start at $12.99. It’s one of the few services that still offers a full free trial, and is also available as a bundle with Peacock.
