Flames damage Altamont garage

ALTAMONT – Firefighters handled a small garage fire here, keeping the blaze from spreading across an entryway to an adjacent home.

Crews were called just before 2pm to a home in the 100 block of South Spencer Street in the Altamont section of West Mahanoy Township.

There, crews found a garage fire threatening an adjacent home.

Firefighters made quick work of the fire, keeping it from spreading across the entryway.

No injuries were reported.

Responding were firefighters from Altamont, William Penn, Frackville, Englewood, Shenandoah, Shenandoah Heights, Mahanoy City, Ashland, and more.
