As the broadcast industry evolves toward more collaborative and location-independent live production, Calrec offers broadcasters flexibility to build scalable workflows tailored to their project needs. The company’s IP Ecosystem, powered by True Control 2.0, integrates its IP-native Argo consoles — including the U.S. debut of the 48-fader Argo M — and the Type R modular IP mixing system, all networked with an ImPulse IP processing core and the new ImPulseV virtualized audio mixing engine.
New Argo M Console — Making its U.S. debut, the compact IP-native Argo M audio console features a 48-fader footprint with integrated DSP supporting up to 356 internal channels. Designed for demanding productions, it balances desk space efficiency with full-sized controls and plug-and-play ST2110 and cloud connectivity. Its ability to link with existing Calrec ImPulse cores and Argo surfaces allows broadcasters to configure multi-console IP environments and scale external DSP resources.
Software Updates — Calrec will spotlight key software enhancements, including the immediate availability of Argo v1.4.24 with operator improvements and Type R v3.2, which will add Mix Minus output enhancements and support features scheduled for release after NAB. A preview of Argo Offline Assist, enabling offline configuration, will be available later this year.
Virtualization Innovations — Calrec is previewing ImPulseV running on virtualized server hardware, enabling hybrid production workflows across commercial off-the-shelf hardware, public and private clouds, and distributed resources. Controlled via Argo or True Control 2.0 consoles or the Assist web UI, ImPulseV allows broadcasters to adapt resources for events of varying scale.
True Control 2.0 — True Control 2.0 facilitates integration of on-premise, remote and cloud-based resources, decoupling audio and video from hardware. Demonstrations at NAB include a live connection between Calrec consoles on the show floor and a remote unit in Calif. The platform supports control over EQ, dynamics, routing, outputs and delay, managing up to six consoles or cores simultaneously without additional hardware.
Argo S, Argo Q and Type R — The 48-fader Argo S console, refreshed with software updates, delivers enhanced routing and customizable metering for live broadcast environments. The flagship 36-fader Argo Q console offers power and precision when paired with an ImPulse core on a True Control 2.0 network.
Calrec’s Type R modular IP mixing system supports distributed workflows with full 5.1 IP core compliance and features such as off-air recording and advanced talkback.
