Woman faces attempted homicide charges after Ryan Township standoff
BARNESVILLE – A Barnesville woman is facing felony attempted homicide and aggravated assault charges, among others, after a standoff lasted most of Wednesday morning.
Alycia Marie Yost, 36, of Barnesville, is awaiting arraignment after a medical evaluation according to State Police at Frackville.
Troopers said they were called to a home on Codorus Road in rural Barnesville around 4am for a 911 hangup call.
There, a man had been shot in the arm and Yost, troopers said, barricaded herself in the home.
The State Police Special Emergency Response Team was activated and Yost was arrested later Tuesday morning.
She was taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation and is awaiting arraignment before Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli according to court documents.
State Road was closed for the duration of the incident.
No other injuries were reported and troopers said the incident is isolated and there is no threat to the public.
