Taurus Technologies Upgrades Podcast Studio With Brightline Low-Voltage Lighting System

Taurus Technologies, a Dallas-area professional AV systems integrator, has completed a technical refresh of its in-house podcast studio, replacing standard fluorescent lighting with a Brightline AV/720 low-voltage lighting and control system.

The upgrade to the Flower Mound, Texas-based studio is designed to transform the company’s “Taurus Tech Talk” podcast into a more polished, professional production for customers and partners. The decision to implement the system followed a Taurus integration project for Associa, where the team observed the performance of the AV/720 controlling 17 fixtures.

“Our podcast is how we explain our work, train technicians, and connect with our partners,” said Corey Church, Taurus VP of technical operations. “Moving to Brightline’s AV/720 was a key part of the studio upgrade. The new fixtures provide the clarity and polish our videos needed to represent the Taurus brand.”

The installation includes 17 Flex-T in-ceiling LED fixtures — using both flood and spot lenses — all powered and controlled by the AV/720 system. The system is designed for variable white lighting over low-voltage cables, allowing for professional-grade color reproduction without the need for a dedicated lighting technician on set.

A primary driver for the selection was the system’s low-voltage architecture, which simplifies installation by using factory-programmed and labeled cables. Brightline officials noted this approach reduces commissioning time and general contractor costs for organizations seeking broadcast-quality visuals on modest budgets.

“The AV/720’s factory-programmed, pre-labeled approach reduces commissioning time and makes future expansions straightforward,” said Tim Godby, Brightline product ambassador.

Taurus Technologies uses the studio to produce content for its YouTube channel, including training walkthroughs, product demonstrations, and vendor showcases. In addition to the Brightline lighting system, the 12×12-foot studio features Shure SM7B microphones, Aver 4K cameras and an Extron recording and streaming processor.

The company stated the improved production value is intended to support sales conversations and make technical training more effective by providing clearer visual demonstrations of AV workflows.
