A man is dead after being hit by a vehicle in St. Paul on Tuesday night.
St. Paul police said that just before 6:30 p.m., officers responded to Front Avenue and Grotto Street North for a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle.
Police found a man lying in the street with severe head injuries, and he was pronounced dead on scene.
The driver of the car was not on scene when officers arrived, but he was found nearby a short time later and taken into custody, according to St. Paul police.
Officials say that the driver is being held on suspicion of criminal vehicular homicide.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
