A 21-year-old Harrison man is facing charges stemming from a high-speed chase through city streets last month. According to police, speeds reached up to 100-miles-per-hour. 21-year-old Colton Watters is accused of hitting the gas instead of the brakes when police tried to initially pull him over.
Watters, driving a black 2006 Honda Civic, reportedly ran stop signs, cut through oncoming lanes to pass other vehicles, and ignored repeated attempts to pull him over. The chase finally ended near AR-392 when officers were able to safely stop the car.

Authorities say they could smell alcohol in the vehicle and found open containers inside. Watters, whose license had been suspended due to a prior DWI, also failed to properly use the required ignition interlock device.

He now faces multiple charges, including fleeing in a vehicle, second-offense DUI, reckless driving, and minor-in-possession of alcohol. Bond was set at $30,000, and he remains in the Boone County Jail awaiting a court date.
