A pilot was luckily uninjured after crashing a plane near the Amery Airport, according to a news release from the Polk County, WI, Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities first received a report of the plane crash around 11:38 a.m. on Friday. At the crash scene, they found a single-engine fixed-wing airplane that was flipped over in a field.
The pilot was the only person on board and was not injured.
He told investigators that the plane started having engine problems soon after takeoff. He tried to make it back to the landing strip of the airport when the plane completely lost power.
The pilot said he landed the plane on the ground. Once the plane touched ground, it overturned.
