Police say they’ve arrested a 17-year-old boy suspected of shooting into a Metro Transit bus last week in north Minneapolis.

The shooting happened Friday afternoon near the intersection of North 36th and Penn avenues. Three people were hit by gunfire, and as of Wednesday, two of them were still recovering in the hospital in stable condition. All three victims are expected to survive.
Due to his age, Metro Transit Police are not releasing any further details about the suspect.

“Violent crime on our transit system will be met with swift and serious consequences,” Metro Transit Interim Police Chief Joe Dotseth said. “Our officers and law enforcement partners acted decisively to apprehend this suspect and ensure they face the full weight of justice. The safety of every rider is our top priority, and we will aggressively pursue anyone who threatens it.”
Police said surveillance footage aided in the “extensive search” for the suspect.
