Icy roads trigger multiple crashes, close SR 46 at Chaffin Chapel

Several crashes prompted a temporary closure Friday morning at the intersection of State Road 46 and Chaffin Chapel Road in Monroe County, authorities said in an e-mail to media sent at 7:17 a.m.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jeff Brown said there were four to five crashes in the area due to slick road conditions, and the highway was closed while crews worked to clear the scene. Brown reported no major injuries.
