Staff report

BLOOMINGTON — December 16, 2025

North Walnut Street north of the Speedway and south of the Blue Ridge housing development was closed for more than an hour Tuesday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash that left a white SUV and a blue sedan with heavy front-end damage.

The collision was reported around 3:29 p.m., according to scanner traffic. Responders worked at the scene as a flatbed tow truck loaded the blue sedan and firefighters swept and cleared debris near the damaged SUV.

No confirmed additional information was immediately available Tuesday regarding injuries, or the cause of the crash. This story will be updated if more details are released.

Editor’s note: The Bloomingtonian went to the scene about an hour after the crash and documented the aftermath for reporting purposes. The outlet has photographs of the incident but is withholding publication of those images at this time.
