BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (Dec. 14, 2025) — Bloomington’s trash and recycling pickup will run one day late this week as the city moves to a modified sanitation schedule ahead of expected extreme cold temperatures, city officials said Sunday.
Under the change, residents whose normal collection day is Monday will have their trash and recycling collected Tuesday, Dec. 16. All remaining routes will continue one day later than usual through the rest of the week, the city said.
The adjustment comes as frigid conditions grip the area, with single-digit temperatures expected Sunday and a continued cold pattern into early week, according to the forecast for Bloomington.
City officials said additional updates will be posted on the city’s sanitation webpage.
