Staff report
Bloomington, Indiana – December 1, 2025
Bloomington police are asking for the public’s help identifying the owner of an urn that was left on a resident’s front porch several weeks ago and has yet to be claimed.
According to the Bloomington Police Department, a resident called officers after discovering the urn on their doorstep. The item was collected and logged into safekeeping at BPD headquarters, but no one has come forward to claim it.
Investigators are again urging anyone who may be missing an urn — or who knows someone who is — to contact the department at 812-339-4477. To verify ownership, callers will be asked to provide identifying characteristics of the urn as well as information about the decedent associated with it.
Police are also asking community members to share the appeal in the hope of locating the rightful owner.
