Volunteers work to ‘Light Up’ Girard Park in Shenandoah
SHENANDOAH – Volunteers were hard at work Saturday afternoon getting Girard Park ready for an annual Shenandoah tradition.
Volunteers from the Greater Shenandoah Area Chamber of Commerce were setting up the annual “Light Up The Park” display at Girard Park.
It’s been an effort of the chamber since 2012, when Betty Ann Bugden spearheaded the effort inspired by a visit to Canada.
Volunteers from chamber member businesses, including Mrs. T’s Pierogies, Oravitz Home for Funerals, Sherry Dental, Vernalis Restaurant, and The Shenandoah Sentinel all took part in this year’s effort.
The chamber also handles the Christmas lights throughout downtown Shenandoah.
